As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Data Architect to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a senior, hands-on Data Architect who is deeply involved in the technical execution of the program

 

This role helps keep a large statistical data warehouse running smoothly day-to-day. That includes making sure data transfers come in accurately, keeping the Oracle data warehouse performing well, coordinating with survey contractors to keep data flowing efficiently, and handling some system admin work in Unix and Linux environments.

 

This Data Architect will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing and building relational databases for data storage or processing
  • Developing strategies for warehouse implementation, data acquisition and access, and data archiving and recovery.
  • Working closely with a team of Data analysts, database administrators, and data quality analysts
  • Database architectural design and construction for both new database and existing database environments
  • Establish best practices for ETL processing in Oracle relational databases.
  • Develop and Maintain documentation regarding data quality assurance and data loading processes
  • Coordinate with survey contractors to provide efficient and accurate data transfers and loading of survey data from SAS and other sources thru standardization/automation of ETL processing
  • Maintain knowledge on industries best practices regarding data processing and relational database design.
  • Refine/improve data standards and structures for all aspects of the data management life cycle
  • Experience designing and building dimensional structures and star schemas
  • Manage all transformation activities for a large Oracle based data warehouse
  • Provide database support activities for all Oracle database environments including

o   Periodic database management such as performance tuning, backup/recovery, expansion, manage security, etc.

o   Technical Support for other developers in the team

o   Write, troubleshoot and improve SQL

 

  • Provide System Administration and development support for Qlik Sense Enterprise:

 

Candidate must be able to pass a government background check.

 

 Knowledge of the following is not necessary but is a plus:

 

              o      Qlik Sense Enterprise

o   Apache Webserver

o   JBoss 6 Application server

o   SAS metadata server 9.4

o   SAS OLAP server 9.4

o   SAS Web Infrastructure Platform 9.4

    • Oracle Database 11g Administrator (OCP) certification 

 

  • Coordinate between with Unix System and Oracle Database Administrators for security patching and incident troubleshooting

 

Qualifications

Data Architect Qualifications:

  • 8-10+ years of data architecture experience.
  • A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar.

The Ideal Data Architect will also have the following:

  • Oracle Certifications.
  • Exposure to development processes, SDLC or Agile, is a plus.
