Overview

Lynker seeks a highly-motivated, Part-time Technical Coordinator to join our Partnerships and Management team to help ensure the successful implementation, measurement, monitoring, and verification of climate-smart practices by Hawaiʻi farmers and ranchers. This position reports directly to Lynker’s HiCSC Program Manager and works among a dedicated and diverse group of individuals across the Partnership.

Responsibilities

Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Support the PM with drafting the amended project narrative for the AMP submission, particularly the incentive payment and producer recruitment and technical service delivery sections. Revise the incentive rates and RFA for the launch of AMP producer recruitment. Support the modification of producer incentive contract milestones and scope of work as well as any terminations for a seamless transition into the AMP program.
    • Support the PM with updating all language in the Producer Support Guidelines, Data Policy, and verification templates.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in agricultural sciences, environmental sciences or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree plus an equivalent of  >5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in tropical or semi-tropical agricultural systems with a deep understanding of climate-smart agriculture and forestry concepts.
  • Computer skills, communication, writing and presentation skills, experience in using GPS, database software, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Place-based familiarity with cultural norms and values and respectful engagement with Hawaiʻi’s diverse communities is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience working with a wide range of individuals in government, private sector and agriculture, especially in Native Hawaiian culture and communities.

  • Applicants must be able to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance that meets or exceeds State of Hawai‘i requirements for the duration of the project term. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with agricultural producers and practitioners.
  • Familiarity with NRCS conservation practice standards, particularly for the Pacific Island Area (CPS-PIA), a plus.
