Lynker Corporation is seeking to hire a Green Sturgeon Recovery Coordinator to support a contract with NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) West Coast Region (WCR) California Central Valley Office (CCVO). This is a full-time, primarily remote position that is anticipated to begin on May 1, 2025. Hiring for this position will be contingent on contract award. Lynker will be operating under its FLOAT joint venture, a NOAA ProTech Fisheries 2.0 prime contract holder. *
The WCR CCVO requires a candidate to assist with critical needs for recovery of Southern Distinct Population Segment (sDPS) green sturgeon, including (1) green sturgeon science and regulatory expertise and work, and (2) green sturgeon recovery planning implementation. The candidate will also be required to stay apprised of broader Central Valley fisheries and science efforts, such as salmon and steelhead recovery planning and science, as there is often a relationship to green sturgeon.

Place of Performance
The selected candidate for this position will work up to 40 hours per week primarily offsite. There will be occasional meetings at the John E. Moss Federal Building in Sacramento, CA or other West Coast Region locations for the purpose of meetings or fieldwork.
Travel
Travel is anticipated for this position for attendance at planning and recovery coordinator meetings within the Northern California Area, which may include overnight stays, or occasionally the greater West Coast Region or United States. The candidate will be required to meet with other recovery coordinators at NOAA’s National Recovery Workshop, held within the United States. The candidate will participate in the annual Interagency Ecological Program (IEP) meeting as part of their role in IEP coordination activities. The candidate may be required to participate in the annual California-Nevada Chapter of the American Fisheries Society or North American Sturgeon and Paddlefish Society meetings, providing presentations or seminars on the ecology of green sturgeon as requested by the CCVO. These presentations and seminars are an integral component of green sturgeon recovery coordination and outreach.
The candidate will be required to attend meetings and workshops with CCVO’s Recovery and Policy Branch to coordinate with the other CCVO recovery coordinator and the Recovery and Policy Branch Chief. The recovery coordinator is also required to attend the offsite all hands CCVO workshop for the purpose of coordinating with CCVO on green sturgeon recovery issues. The candidate will also be required to go on several site visits and field tours per year within the West Coast Region geography that pertain to green sturgeon recovery issues. A Government vehicle can be provided as needed for field work if the selected candidate is local.
