Overview

Lynker is expecting and upcoming need for a talented Administrative Specialist to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) by
performing a variety of administrative tasks including schedule management, support of federal and contractor travel activities as well as a host of additional tasks, further defined below. The position works within the Business Operations Division (BOD) which is responsible for all Acquisition, Administrative and Financial services for the organization.  This position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

The successful Administrative Specialist will support the NOAA Director and Deputy
Director with day to day tasks as well as support federal senior leadership as needed. The Administrative Specialist will also provide
routine administrative and secretarial duties such as maintain federal management schedules, coordinate events and/or
meetings, perform or support project management and other general administrative office support. Works independently to
perform a variety of both complex and routine administrative and secretarial duties.

 

The Ideal Administrative Specialist will have the following:

 

● Perform routine administrative and secretarial duties to support federal leadership and management personnel.
● Maintain and deconflict federal management schedules, coordinate events and/or meetings, project
administration, general office support for federal senior leadership, the Director and Deputy Director, to include
all necessary logistics on-site and virtually, as requested.
● Assist with developing and/or maintaining presentations and/or briefings for the Director and Deputy
Director.
● Provide professional, courteous and timely administrative support as back up for federal travel and back up for
contractor travel/conferences, personnel security and badging process.
● Assist BOD with the planning and execution of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), the Emergency
Response Plan and the Hurricane Plan including various associated drills as requested.
● Assist with maintaining the accuracy of NOAA Staff Directory and Intranet/INET information.
● Assist with records management efforts, including but not limited to maintaining and updating standard
operating procedures.
● Assist with property records and inventory.

Qualifications

The Ideal Administrative Specialist will should have the following Qualifications:

 

● Bachelor's Degree & 4 Years of Experience in related business fields.
● Proficient computer knowledge with emphasis on Microsoft Office and Google Drive. Strong, professional oral and
written communication skills.
● Demonstrated ability to build relationships with federal management, colleagues, and external partners.
● Excellent interpersonal skills; Admin support responsibilities will require constant and effective communication
with NOAA management, staff and visitors.
● Self-starter with ability to work in a small team environment with minimal direct day-to-day supervision
● Experience working with, for and/or supporting high level management. The ability to keep data confidential and
secured is a must. Knowledge of keeping personnel and business data confidential is required.
● Ability to follow standard operating procedures and guidance documentation as well as create and/or update
standard operating procedures as needed.
● Ability to pass a National Agency Check (NACI).
