As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scientific Applications Programmer to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).

This position is contingent upon contract award.

• Background in requirements analysis, software design, development and implementation, including real-time data acquisition and processing, data communications, and scientific and business applications. 

•  Experience with relational database systems, familiar with open systems hardware and software.  

• Experience using best-practice programming methods and secure coding techniques are required.  

• Specific experience in C++, Java and/or LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP).  

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus, along with cloud development experience. 

• BS/BA Computer Science, Programming, Software Engineering, or related fields
