As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Logistics Property Control Specialist to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).

 

This position is contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities of the Senior Logistics Property Control Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

  • Update in NEMIS the daily log of incoming/outgoing asset transactions to the correct user and location

  • Process Property Requests and Receiving Documents in NEMIS

  • Attach property tags to incoming qualifying assets and create asset numbers in NEMIS

  • Stock incoming or returning assets in the designated storage locations and update NEMIS accordingly

  • Support efforts to locate and stage assets that are no longer needed and identified for excess

  • Load and deliver excessed accountable assets to NASA Redistribution

  • Survey excessed assets from the NEMIS system

  • Locate and account for assets for employee departures, property inventories, and property transfers to ensure accuracy

  • Evaluate and report any instances of lost, missing, damaged, or destroyed government property

  • Serve as Property Contact in support of the NDBC Property Custodian

  • Perform property transaction entries in the DOC accountable property management system (SUNFLOWER)

  • Receive and execute Helpdesk tickets to perform IT property transaction updates in NEMIS and Sunflower

  • Generate Hand Receipts when asset responsibility is transferred and ensure user completes and returns hand receipt within 5 business days accepting responsibility for the listed DOC (SUNFLOWER) accountable assets

  • Attach RFID asset tags to all qualifying incoming IT assets and sync asset information in the Sunflower system

  • Oversee the daily functions of the NDBC Property/LRU Storage area

  • Ensure that the property storage area is always safe, clean, and organized

Qualifications

Requirements of the Senior Logistics Property Control Specialist:

  • High School Diploma

  • 16 years of relevant experience

  • Previous experience with the National Data Buoy Center and its mission is preferred.

  • Previous experience using the existing government-provided inventory management system, NEMIS, and DOC accountable property management system, SUNFLOWER, is preferred.

  • Have/Maintain a Valid Driver’s License
