As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Logistics Warehouse Specialist to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Data Buoy Center (NDBC).

 

This position is contingent on contract award.

 

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities of the Senior Logistics Warehouse Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

  • Verifying accuracy of incoming shipments

  • Receiving inventory and either creating a coordinating file for the item or pulling the existing file to perform a cross check to ensure the product and quantity is correct

  • Checking packages against Purchase Orders and Packing slips and preparing them for their final QA inspections

  • Receive incoming consumables in NEMIS, generating stock receipts to provide to the Logistics Warehouse Clerks to stock consumables in designated locations

  • Verify completed stock receipts for system & physical count and location accuracy and receive inventory in NEMIS

  • Prepare property items using receiving documents in NEMIS for calibrated property and new processing of government LRU’S

  • Process paperwork after all QA inspections have been verified and documents signed

  • Unload trucks with forklifts and verify materials received are not damaged and in compliance with packing list and freight bills

  • Perform physical cycle counts as assigned to verify system inventory accuracy

  • Enter GFE purchases in NEMIS and update receiving status in SharePoint

  • Notify personnel identified on the delivery documentation of shipment arrival and arrange for pickup or delivery within the NDBC campus

  • Create Purchase Requisitions in NEMIS and contractor system

  • Perform goods receivers in a timely manner for all consumable items to ensure timely payment processing to suppliers

  • Check for issuing, verifying, and receiving signatures and quantities pulled on MSRs; issue MSRs in NEMIS

  • Investigate all inventory discrepancies and provide a suspected cause to the Logistics Lead

  • Update / Create SDS in NEMIS and hard copy file for all applicable consumable inventory and provide to EHS Manager

  • Create new control numbers in NEMIS as approved in SharePoint

  • Report all safety and building related issues to site maintenance using helpdesk workorder tickets through SharePoint

  • Ensure the warehouse is always safe, clean and organized

  • Communicate job expectations and coach Logistics Warehouse Clerks

Qualifications

Requirements of the Senior Logistics Warehouse Specialist:

  • High School Diploma

  • 16 years of relevant experience

  • Previous experience with the National Data Buoy Center and its mission is preferred

  • Previous experience using the existing government-provided inventory management system, NEMIS is preferred

  • Have/Obtain Forklift Operator Certification

  • Have/Maintain a Valid Driver’s License
