As part of our ongoing growth and expansion, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Uncrewed Vessel Supervisor & Operator to support a long-term contract with NOAA. The Uncrewed Vessel Supervisor & Operator will have 4+ years of experience, and will ideally reside somewhere along the coast, for ease of frequent trips to sea.

 

 

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

Duties of the Uncrewed Vessel Supervisor & Operator will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Serve as an uncrewed vehicle operator / watchstander for hydrographic and other survey missions, conducted in increments of up to 30 days of operations. Includes responsibility for navigation and situational awareness of the vehicle and assisting with emergency, troubleshooting, and training scenarios while underway.
  • Coordinate and participate in the mobilization and demobilization of the uncrewed vehicle before an after each ship's integration period, including breakdown, containerization, and rigging for travel.
  • Conducting low level maintenance and repair on the uncrewed vehicle as required to support operations.

Qualifications

The Ideal Uncrewed Vessel Supervisor & Operator will have the Following:

  • Experience with vessel handling and vessel maintenance. Desire any boat license.
  • Experience with radio communications, including VHF radio operations and IP / WiFi network communications.
  • Experience with maritime situational awareness, including use of ECDIS and radar basics.
  • Experience with subsea / surface survey equipment and positioning / navigation equipment (e.g. GNSS, INS)
  • Experience with electrical / electronic circuits, including ability to read wiring diagrams and understanding of basic IP networks.
  • Experience in vessel mobilization / demobilization including basics of rigging and lifting, lifting operations on a vessel including launch and recovery operations.
  • Experience in the basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on diesel engines
  • General skills in using tools, hardware, and consumables to support maritime systems, keeping availability high while deployed.
  • MUST HAVE the willingness and ability to go to sea and support at sea operations with relative frequency.
  • Associates Degree in marine technology OR a relevant field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with program management including scheduling, planning, budgeting, and reporting is a BIG PLUS.
  • A PMP certification is a BIG PLUS.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in an interagency atmosphere.
